Billie Pingree is currently a sophomore at Barnard College studying sociology. She is from Northwood, New Hampshire and is 19-years-old. She is currently employed as a Resident Assistant and as a nursery school teacher at Columbia's Tompkins Hall Nursery and Childcare Center. This is not the limit of her experience with children, however. She has worked as a camp counselor for the past two summers, caring for and engaging with children aged 5-12 and also has extensive babysitting experience. She is involved with several organizations on the Columbia campus, including the Columbia Art Collective (for which she is the Creative Director), Columbia Artists-Reaching-Out (a program providing children in a local homeless shelter with fine arts and art history education) and Matriculate (an organization providing free college advising to low-income, high-achieving high school students). She has experience in introductory art history and architectural history courses and is personally passionate about art. She actively creates her own artwork and manages an Instagram page showcasing that work (@billiep.art). She is excited to pursue her interests in education and art as a committed member of the Today A Musée team.
